Welcome to Forest Hills Little League

Seniors team makes it to playoff round at Nationals (Aug 10th)

The seniors team clinched a playoff spot with a third place finish in the round robin with a 16-3 win over Quebec today. They finished with a 3-2 record in the round robin and go on to play Nova Scotia in the semi final game on Thursday. All the teams will meet the Mayor of Saint John on Wednesday at 1 pm with a banquet in the evening. The boys have been treated really well by the tournament organizers and the people of Saint John. Our team is looking forward to the playoffs on Thursday.

Seniors National Tournament Update (Aug 9th)

The Seniors team is 2-1 so far. They lost their first game to Nova Scotia 11-3 but have won the last two games against Ontario 9-2 and Saint John 13-10. The team will play Edmonton on Monday, August 9th. One more win guarantees a playoff spot. The team is playing much better after their first loss and are more energized. Last evening's game was televised on local tv here in Saint John. The boys are having a blast and are enjoying the celebrity status with radio, tv and newspaper coverage in the local news.

BC Champions

A combined Senior select team (15-16 year olds) representing Forest Hills, North Vancouver Central and Highlands Little League recently won the BC Senior Provincials at Ambleside Park July 25th. This team will represent BC at the Senior Canadians in Saint John, New Brunswick which runs from August 7-12th. The players and coaches will be leaving for New Brunswick on Wednesday, August 4th. This is the first time a team from District 5 has represented BC at the nationals since 1994. The team can be followed through the Senior Little League Championship web site at www.leaguelineup.com

Due to the high costs of attending the tournament the team has been fund raising and in less than a week they have almost reached their goal. The team would like to thank Wayne Hobson (District 5 Administrator), league presidents Chris Weyell, Bob Fontaine and Sue Kennedy for their generous support of the team. Other sponsors are Vancouver Sun, Scotia Bank, Greg Wong, Labour Unlimited, Steve Pruner's grandma and all the people who have donated money and their time. A special thanks to Jacquie Gould who spearheaded the fundraising and who is the team organizer.

Players from Forest Hills are Julien Beck, Ollie Campbell, Casey Dubois, Tommy Huber, Kyle Kawamoto, Jake Moore and Carson Power. Coaches Keith Kawamoto and Peter Huber. Good luck to the team at the Canadians!!
